Our History

1931-1940

1936	Oct.	Chemicals division of Aichi Tokei Denki spun off to create Aichi Kagaku Kogyo, capitalized at 1 million yen and headquartered within the Aichi Tokei offices (#15 Chitose Aza Funagata, Minami-ku, Nagoya).
1939	Feb.	Developed Japan's first urea-based resin adhesive, "AICHI-MUTEKI-NORI."

1941-1950

1944	Mar.	Established the Shinkawa plant.
1949	May.	Listed on the Nagoya Stock Exchange.

1951-1960

1954	July.	Urea resin wood adhesives first in Japan to be granted the right to display the JIS mark.
1960	Jan.	Launched "AICA DECOLITE" high pressure laminate (HPL). Changed the brand name of the melamine sheets to "AICA."

1961-1970

1962	July.	Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1966	Mar.	Built factory in Jimokuji.
1966	June.	Changed company name to "Aica Kogyo Co., Ltd."
1967	Feb.	AICA HPL (high pressure laminate) receives JIS certification.
1968	Dec.	Established first joint company in Malaysia.
1969	Mar.	AICA Aibon (polyvinyl acetate plastic emulsion wood adhesive) received JIS certification.

1971-1980

1974	Mar.	Established P.T. AICA Indonesia.
1974	Oct.	Moved headoffice to the 20th floor of the Takihyo Building (2-20-19 Marunouchi, Naka-ku, Nagoya), currently the Nagoya Tokio M&F Building.
1976	July.	Established AICA Door Sdn. Bhd.
1979	Dec.	Established MAICA Wood Industry (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

1981-1990

1986	May.	Listed on the First Section of the Tokyo and Nagoya Stock Exchanges.

1991-2000

1997	Dec.	Granted for ISO9001.
1999	Mar.	Invested in MAICA LAMINATES SDN. BHD. (Malaysia)
	June.	Established the Fukushima Plant.
	Sept.	Granted for ISO14001 certification.
2000	Apr.	Established R&D building within the Fukushima Plant.
	Sept.	Constructed Head office Building within the Shinkawa Plant.
	Sept.	Established P.T. Techno Wood Indonesia (in Karawang Indonesia).

2001-2010

2001	Mar.	Acquired stock for and subsidized Ganz Chemical Co., Ltd.(Osaka).
	Aug.	Granted OHSAS18001 certification.
	Oct.	Merged AICA Hanbai Co., Ltd. which was a subsidiary.
2002	June.	Established R&D building within the Jimokuji Plant.
2002	Nov.	Acquired stock for and subsidized Dainippon Shikizai Kogyo Co., Ltd.
2003	May.	Established Kunshan AICA Kogyo Co., Ltd.
2003	Sept.	Established Shenyang AICA-Hope Kogyo Co., Ltd.
2004	Apr.	Built AICA Osaka Building (1-13-27 Minamisenba, Chuoku, Osaka).
2004	Aug.	Unit of stock transaction changed from 1,000 shares to 100 shares.
2005	Apr.	Merger with Dainippon Shikizai Kogyo Co., Ltd.
2006	Aug.	Established AICA Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
2008	Oct.	Acquired stock for and subsidized Nishi Tokyo Chemix Corporation.
2009	Apr.	Moved Nagoya branch to 2-1-1 Suemoridori, Chikusa-ku, Nagoya.
2010	Oct.	Granted Forest Stewardship Council “Chain of Custody” Certification, a first for high pressure laminate (HPL) manufacturers.

2011-2020

2011	June.	Established AICA Laminates India Pvt. Ltd. in India. Took over high pressure laminate (HPL) business from Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd.
2012	Apr.	Merged Ganz Chemical Co., Ltd.
	Sept.	Established AICA Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Vietnam).
	Dec.	Acquired stocks of Dynea Asia Pacific, a subsidiary of Dynea Chemicals (Finland) and established Aica Asia Pacific Holding Pte.Ltd. (Singapore).
2013	Feb.	Granted for Biomass Mark certification for high pressure laminate (HPL).
2014	Jan.	Moved Fukuoka branch to 1-60 Higashihie, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, and established Fukuoka showroom
2014	Apr.	Transferred the printed wiring board business.
2015	Sept.	Established AICA SDK PHENOL CO., LTD., Ltd. Acquired the phenolic resin business of Showa Denko K.K.
2015	Oct.	Established AICA TECH KENZAI CO.,LTD. Acquired business of Mitsubishi Materials Kenzai Corporation.
2016	Feb.	Acquired Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare "Kurumin" certification as a company that supports working parents.
	Apr.	Merged AIHO CO., Ltd.
	Nov.	Established AICA America, Inc. (USA).
2017	Apr.	Established AICA’s 10 years Vision.
	June.	Opened first full-scale, directly operated showroom "Taiwan Aica Taichung Showroom" in Taiwan with Taiwanese joint venture "Taiwan Aica Kogyo Co., Ltd."
	Oct.	Merged AICA SDK PHENOL CO., LTD.
	Dec.	Established AICA Laminates Vietnam Co.,Ltd.
2018	Jan.	Moved Head office to JP Tower Nagoya, Nagoya City, Aichi and rename the Head-Office Factory as the Nagoya Factory.
		Acquired shares to convert EVERMORE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO., LTD. (Taiwan) to a subsidiary.
		Established Aica Asia Laminates Holding Co., Ltd. (Thailand).
	Mar.	Acquired shares of convert Thai Chemical Corporation Limited (now AICA Thai Chemical Ltd., Thailand) by Aica Asia Pacific Holding Pte.Ltd. to a subsidiary.
2019	Apr.	Acquired stock of Sois Mendinni Industrial Technology (Shanghai) Ltd. through Aica Asia Laminates Holding Co., Ltd.(Thailand) and made into a subsidiary.
	July.	Entered a capitaland business tie-up with SOUBU Co., Ltd.
	Sept.	Acqired shares of convert Nanjing Zhongteng Chemical Co., Ltd. (China) by Dynea Nanjing Co., Ltd. to a subsidiary.
	Dec.	Acquired shares to convert Wilsonart LLC’s Asia Pacific Subsidiaries to a subsidiary.
2020	Mar.	Acquired shares to convert AICA HPL Trading Joint Stock Company (Vietnam) to a subsidiary.
2020	July.	Acquired shares to convert U-BEST VIET NAM POLYMER INDUSTRY and VIET NAM SUM YAD TECHNOLOGY LIMITED by EVERMORE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO., LTD. to a subsidiary.

2021	Mar.	Acquired one of the phenolic resin business of DIC Corporation.
	Apr.	Acquired shares to convert Adtek Consolidated Sdn. Bhd (Malaysia) to a subsidiary.
	July.	Acquired the UV curing coating material for overprint varnish business and Dayuan plant of Covestro Resins (Taiwan) Ltd. by EVERMORE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO., LTD.
2022	Apr.	Selected "Prime Market" in Tokyo Stock Exchange and "Premier Market" in Nagoya Stock Exchange.
